Tools Used For This Project

These are the humble and simple tools that I used for this project.

  1. At the top is the little 440 stainless lock-blade pocket-knife.  It's at least 20 years old.  Back then it had cost me like $6.00, and I have absolutely abused this knife to the maximum, but it keeps on cutting anything I want it to, including all kind of metals.  It has a very hard blade, and it takes either a high quality whet-stone or a diamond surfaced stone to sharpen it properly.  At one time I had broken the tip and simply reground a new one.
  2. Next is the little jeweler's screw driver (cost $1.00 for a whole little kit at a Dollar Tree store).
  3. This little whet-stone belongs to my brother.  It's a very handy size for working on gun sears and other parts.  I have no idea where or how he acquired it.
  4. Last is a little piece of 400 grit emery-cloth.
